Our philosophy is “Beauty inside outâ€. Our aim is “Total Healthâ€. Our focus on women relates to addressing the health issues that are unique to them and be able to provide solutions and recommendations more gender sensitive and specific. It is not to exclude in any manner men who would seek care. We evaluate patients with their total “Vascular Health” in perspective, and a specific focus on management of venous diseases. With our aim to promote “Total Health†for our patients, we also counsel patients for the management of other related conditions such as weight gain, smoking cessation, nutrition information and other related services.

Physicians’ Background

Girija Surya MD is a board certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon who has been in practice in NJ since she completed her general surgical residency at UMDNJ and fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in 1987. She is the first woman to be trained at Newark Beth Israel Cardiothoracic Residency, holds the unique honor of being one of the members of the team that performed the first heart transplant in the state of NJ. She brings with her a unique combination of good knowledge and training, talented hands and judgment, compassion and a compulsive zeal to bring the best treatment options for each patient, delivered with utmost care and compulsion.
